Speaker’s profile:Jake Abdullah, better known as Jakeman from Hitz.fm, is a Ph.D holder from the University of Sedona in Arizona. He joined Astro in 1996 before holding his current position as the CEO of Astro Radio since 2013.
Jakeman started off as an announcer / music executive for Hitz.fm. He was promoted numerous times in Astro – Programme Manager, Senior Programme Manager, Network Manager, General Manager, Group General Manager and Chief Content Officer before he was seconded to IM4U under the Prime Minister’s Office, where he set up this volunteer organization and spearheaded its numerous activities. Upon his return to Astro on 1 May 2013, he was promoted to CEO.
He still is a professional disc jockey (under the moniker Jakeman) where he has two shows (Club Hitz and Mix Tape sessions) on Hitz FM and Mix FM. A qualified life coach, he is an avid fitness enthusiasts who also teaches martial arts in his free time.
